World Book Day – Friday 8th March

We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Friday 8th March; one day later than the official date.
To promote a love of reading, we have decided to have a ‘hat’ themed day, where the children will come into school wearing their normal school uniform, but wear a hat inspired by a particular book. The children could create their own hat, decorated with clues as to what their book is, or they could wear an everyday hat.
To link with this theme, we will then be having a ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ where the children will come together as a school and share in discussions about their favourite books.
We hope that the children will enjoy being inspired by a particular book and can’t wait to see what hats they come to school in!
Reading Hamilton’s Hats could be a great source of inspiration for younger pupils…
