Pepper, Michael – Co-opted Governor

As a former Corporate Director within Local Government I have served on the management boards of three ‘local education authorities’, responsible for educational and community based policy and practice. As director of HR I advised Governors Boards on appointments, discipline and individual and team development issues. I have acted as a mentor for Head Teachers, facilitated the placement of teachers into non-teaching work experience and have served as a regional advisor on employer work skills needs.  In a voluntary capacity I have been a Chairman of Youth Offender Panels.

I am very interested in the preparation of young people for life skills and eventually employment.  I am also interested in the development of management teams and the personal development of teaching staff.

I have lived in the village of Crayke for over nine years and acknowledge the significance of the School and its pupils, parents and teachers for the local community.
