Letter from Mr. Buttery

I am delighted to have been appointed as Headteacher of Crayke Church of England Primary School, from September 2014.  I am relishing the opportunity to work with the outstanding team who have played such a pivotal role in the school’s ongoing success.

I am married and have two children Jenson (7) and Amelia (4), so needless to say I have first-hand experience of the being a primary school parent.

As Headteacher, my number one priority is to ensure that Crayke Church of England Primary School consistently promotes the very highest academic standards.  Children only get one chance at school and I am determined to ensure that students who attend Crayke receive a first class education which will prepare them for the rest of their lives.

Christian beliefs and values will permeate the school, its curriculum, corridors and classrooms.  The staff at Crayke Church of England Primary School will continue to encourage the children to become lifelong learners through a varied and exciting curriculum.  Crayke Church of England Primary School will be an inclusive school which welcomes children and families of all beliefs and backgrounds.

As well as a first class education, Crayke Church of England Primary School will continue to provide care and personal support for every pupil.  I strongly believe in providing children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. It is crucial to involve the children and their families as partners in their education.

The Governors and staff will work together with you to ensure that Crayke Church of England Primary School continues to be a beacon of success.  My goal is that Crayke gains recognition both locally and nationally as a centre of excellence for education and values-based learning.  I want your son or daughter to wake up each morning excited about going to Crayke Church of England Primary School, proud to wear our uniform and ready to tell you what they have learned when they come home each day.

I feel very proud and tremendously excited to have been appointed as Headteacher at Crayke Church of England Primary School. I am looking forward to working in partnership with the children, staff, Governors and yourselves as the parent community to continue to develop Crayke as an exciting, happy and successful school.

I look forward to meeting both you and your children.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Buttery
