I moved to Crayke in January 2013, to take up the post of Rector (vicar) at the church here, so automatically joined the governing body when I started work. I have responsibility for the churches in Coxwold, Husthwaite, Carlton Husthwaite, Wass, Brandsby and Yearsley as well as for St Cuthbert’s Crayke. My eldest child started in Class 1 when we moved.
Immediately prior to moving to Crayke I was a curate (trainee vicar) on Flamborough Head. As part of my post there I began to work with the local schools, leading collective worship and helping with the RE curriculum. I love the challenge of responding to the questions that children ask about God, life and everything else you can imagine. Before I studied theology during my training for ministry in the Church of England, I gained a degree in Maths and did a lot of photocopying in various administrative roles!
As a foundation governor, my primary role is to support the school in meeting the expectations of the Church of England as a Church School, as well as more general expectations for a flourishing learning community. I hope also to support and build on the links between the village and the school and share something of what it means to be a Christian.
