Warriner, Fiona – Local Authority Governor

I became a parent governor in 2003, having had three boys at Crayke School and also been a supply teacher at the school for many years.  I felt then that I wanted to know more about the running of the school and put myself forward to become a parent governor.  I have enjoyed my eight years and am due to finish my term of office next year.

During my time as a governor, I have been on the curriculum committee, with responsibility for literacy throughout the school.  At present I am the Foundation Stage governor and in that role, I make regular visits to the Reception class.

Once a week I listen to readers in the Key Stage 1 class.  I have also accompanied many school trips and over the years have been very active in different roles in CHASA.  As a governor, I have attended various training courses run by NYCC and I was involved in the last OfSted inspection, which was an interesting if rather daunting experience.
